Mr. Charles Thomas, 66, died on March 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda Thomas. His children: Lloyd, Duane, Charles Jr., Charlemagne and her children, whom he loved dearly: David Natalie, Tyrone Cheronn, Rasheed and Kenyetta. He is also survived by his two sisters: Donna and Carolyn of New York, and three brothers: Nathan of Massachusetts, Foster and George of New York. Also left to cherish his loving memory are 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a host of nieces & nephews and other family & friends.Charles was preceded in death by his dad Jim Thomas, three siblings: Ernest, Johnnie Ray, Gwendolyn, and his dear mother Mary Lang Thomas, affectionately known as Madea.Our beloved Charles was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 7, 1950. He migrated to New York City as a young adult where he completed his high school education.Charles was a hardworking craftsman who readily extended a helping hand to those in need.He lived life to the fullest through the enjoyment of simple pleasures including fishing, music, and building things with his hands. Charles was a highly social man who made friends wherever he went.He will be remembered for his quick wit and honesty. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.A remembrance service for Charles Thomas will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Jackson M. Abbot Wetland Refuge. The address is 5000 Pole Road, Alexandria, Va 22309.
