Carl Lorin Burns Sr., 82, of Bryans Road, formerly of Alexandria, Va. died peacefully Feb 28, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1931, in Del Ray, Virginia to the late Thomas A. Burns and Chloe Thompson Burns. He was the beloved husband of Felicia Emerita Burns, whom he married December 3, 1953 in Panama. He graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, Va. After retiring from Sun Trust bank, he ran a successful home day care with his wife. He loved jokes, the sillier the better, playing on the computer, and playing with the children. He was everyone?s friend, a loving husband and father. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Carl Jr., Richard, Christine, and son-in-law Michael; Marta E. Morales, whom he raised like a daughter; brother, Leonard; four grandchildren, Sandra, Daniel, Gerrit and Eli; 2 great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Julia and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, and services, March 11 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Alexandria, Va. Burial will take place at Mount Comfort cemetery in Alexandria, Va.
