BETTY EVELYN WISE (Age 86)

With much sorrow, we announce the passing of Betty Wise on December 4, 2022, of Virginia, a former Dutchess County resident for over 60 years. She was born December 2, 1936, in Dayton, OH, to parents Forrest and Martha Stukey and is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Francis (Frank) Wise of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, her son Michael Wise of New York, and daughter Ann Wise Carney of Alexandria, Virginia. She also leaves behind four grandchildren – Forrest, Allie, Matthew, and Kate, son-in-law Keith Carney and her brother Bill. She is preceded in death by her son William. Betty was a 1955 graduate of Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School, Dayton, OH, and a 1983 graduate of Dutchess Community College. She worked for Dutchess Community College and the Dutchess County Executive’s Office before retiring in 2002. She was an avid reader and volunteered for many years at local libraries. The family will conduct private services and requests that charitable donations in her memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
