Benjamin A. Brock, 32, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 5, 2017. He was born May 18, 1985 in Colorado Springs, CO, but grew up with his parents Todd and Dora Brock and sister Lauren, in Covington, GA. Along with his parents and sister, he is survived by his wife, Shauna Brock; children, Isabella and Devin Brock; and his grandmothers Linda Phillips and Billy Hutchinson. He also left behind both lifelong and recent friends and teammates who will also dearly miss his laugh, his sense of humor, and his advice.

Often referred to by his wife as the “Book of Brock”, Ben was an avid learner who was full of knowledge on almost any subject. Ben was curious about so many things, so choosing simply one hobby or a career seemed impossible at times. He tried everything once and found joy in making music, snowboarding, hiking, software engineering, travel and hunting. If you had to choose only a handful of things that he enjoyed above everything else, Ben’s passions were fast cars, cooking, and fitness.
He was an Army combat veteran who eventually found his way into a career that he loved as an innovative software developer. Above all, he loved his family and his friends, fiercely loyal to every one of them and willing to help when they needed it. Ben was an incredible father to his children – teaching them lessons about working hard, pushing them to find their limits, helping them grow up to be kind people, and making sure they always ate their meat. He has left us too soon and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends August, 13, 2017 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alex. VA 22314 at from 2pm to 3pm. A Life Celebration service will begin at 3pm here at the funeral home and will be followed by a wake to honor Ben’s life and share fond memories at the Light Horse Tavern in Old Town Alexandria. We will also have a memorial in Georgia. All friends and family are invited to join together to celebrate the life of Ben Brock at Solid Rock Baptist Church located at 8111 Brown Bridge Rd, Covington, Ga. 30014 on Monday, August 14th, from 6:00-8:00. We will be in the main sanctuary from 6:00-7:00 for everyone to come pay their respects to the family. At 7:00 we will move over to the Fellowship Hall where Chris Trost and Brandon Robert would like to say a few words about their dear friend Ben followed by food and beverage. Please feel free to bring a covered dish if you would like.
